However, presently one out of four adults in Europe lack the necessary digital skills, impacting not only person’s opportunities in education, employment and community, but also the society and economy at large.

Digital training
We empower young people to succeed in self-employment, because we know that the global market can’t keep pace with the vast numbers of young people entering every year in the digital era.
The main overall objective of the project was to provide guidance and training for adult educators across Europe on how to use ICT tools and digital methods to better deliver basic skills education. This was done through an integrative approach in collecting, sharing and disseminating innovative and inclusive teaching and learning practices using ICT tools and digital methods.
The IDEAL project team explored what kind of skills are needed in different contexts and how teachers’ competencies could be developed by sharing knowledge, experiences and good practices. Project products include materials and teaching activities for adult educators shared through online toolkit, workshops and seminars.
As a result of the project, teachers and trainers have become more skilled and confident in integrating innovative digital methods in their everyday teaching context, including multimedia application, the use of video, virtual learning environments, social media and gaming. Through the online toolkit developed in the project, teachers across Europe have access to quick and easy booklets and video guides on how to teach literacy and numeracy using ICT.
LONGER-TERM BENEFITS
Partner organizations report about major improvements in their practices related to digital integration in learning, teaching and training. The project has not only developed the competences of individual adult educators, but has also helped to ensure that strategic choices have been made in partner organizations regarding staff training plans or purchasing of ICT equipment.
Participants continue to share their learning through internal and external dissemination, for example by leading workshops and communicating the results to the project target groups.
This strategic partnership project also created an active European network of adult education teachers and trainers that will continue to be exploited in future cooperation projects.

is a global development organization that empowers smallholder farmers to lift themselves out of poverty by harnessing the collective power of technology and grassroots-level partnerships. We join forces with governments, private agencies, and, most importantly, rural communities themselves to co-create digital solutions that are of the community and for the community. When farmers have the tools they need to connect with one another, they’re far more likely to apply what they’ve learned on their farms and in their households—improving their own livelihoods and those of others in their community, in a manner that’s nutrition-sensitive, climate-resilient, and inclusive.

we will strengthen the knowledge triangle, building sustainable collaborative relationships between universities, SMEs and innovation support organizations. It responds to the problem of increasing fragmentation in the field of innovation promotion, especially the dislocation between those who generate knowledge that could spur innovation , and those who can translate that knowledge into marketable strategies and use it to produce economic growth (SMEs). Since the SME sector accounts for 99% of all businesses, provides two thirds of private sector jobs and contributes more than half of the total value-added created by businesses in the EU, the implementation of greater innovation in SMEs in an effective and cost –efficient way is vital to fulfilling not only Europe’s economic objectives, but also those of a more equal and productive society with higher social and economic integration. To achieve its goals, the project entails: • Development of 4 Territorial Innovation Alliances involving 70+ stakeholders in 5 countries (Ireland + UK, Germany, Spain, Romania) • The development, piloting, publishing and promotion of open access, digital learning resource for European SMEs, training them in the specific skills needed for engaging in innovation transfer with HEIs and Horizon 2020 projects • The development, piloting, publishing and promotion of a multimedia Comparative Study and Case Study Guide for Innovation Transfer presenting effective and cost effective solutions for transmitting HEI research to SME context The project will consolidate cooperation as a key feature of the knowledge economy, reshaping traditional roles by multiplying outlets for HEIs to generate direct economic impact from their work, and breaking down barriers so that SMEs of all shapes and sizes can actively implement academic-based innovation to boost their own competitiveness, and that of the wider economy.

From Circular recycling turning waste back into products that re-enter the local supply chain, Aquaponics combines aquaculture (finfish production) with hydroponics (water-based plant production). In an aquaponics system, feed provided to the fish is a source of nutrients for both the fish and, after digested, for the plants.

The plastic problem is crystal clear by now.
If you’re on this webpage, chances are you know this already.
And understand its gravity.
Precious Plastic exists to reduce plastic waste.
Sometimes we do it through boosting recycling. Sometimes through new biodegradable materials. Some other time by adopting zero waste lifestyles.
Whatever works.
Our solutions see people as the key element to fix the plastic mess.
Precious Plastic approaches count on people to bring about the necessary change.
Small steps, multiplied by millions. That’s where we can win our battle.
We don’t believe in techno-utopian, fix-it-all, dream technology.
Precious Plastic is a combination of people, machines, platforms and knowledge
to create an alternative global recycling system.
Everyone can join the Precious Plastic Universe (yes you too!).
You can go full in and start a Precious Plastic space or support when and how you can.
